Job Description
The Service Manager role in Caernarfon, Gwynedd offers the chance to lead high-quality, person-centred support for people with learning disabilities within the community. You’ll guide a dedicated team, drive service improvement, and help individuals live more independent and enriched lives.
Key Responsibilities
As a Service Manager based in Caernarfon, your daily duties will include:
- Overseeing the day-to-day operations of two support services in Caernarfon, ensuring excellent outcomes for six individuals through person-centred practice.
- Leading, motivating, and developing a team of support workers, promoting a positive, collaborative, and accountable culture.
- Reviewing support plans, service delivery, risk assessments, and progress logs, applying active support principles and best practice.
- Building strong relationships with service users, families, and external partners to ensure joined-up support.
- Driving continuous improvement, encouraging creative problem-solving, and coaching staff to meet individual needs.
Requirements & Qualifications
To be successful as a Service Manager, you will need:
- Level 5 qualification in Health and Social Care (or be actively working towards it).
- Proven experience supporting people with learning difficulties in a social care setting.
- Knowledge of the Care Council for Wales Code of Practice.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends, and provide cover when required.
- Full UK driving licence, access to a car, and willingness to use it for transporting service users (with appropriate business insurance).
- Welsh language skills are desirable to support Welsh-speaking individuals.
