Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Service Manager to lead and manage support services in Caernarfon, Gwynedd. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities, ensuring they live fulfilled and enriched lives within the community. The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day operations of two support services, providing person-centred support and leadership to a committed team.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Service Manager based in Caernarfon, your daily duties will include:
- Managing the operational delivery of support services for six individuals with learning disabilities, ensuring high-quality, person-centred care.
- Providing motivational leadership and direction to support staff, fostering a positive and inclusive team environment.
- Conducting regular reviews of support plans, risk assessments, and service delivery to ensure compliance with best practices and individual needs.
- Building strong relationships with stakeholders, including service users, families, and external agencies, to promote collaborative support.
- Developing and coaching team members to enhance their skills, problem-solving abilities, and professional growth.
- Ensuring the service aligns with organisational values and complies with relevant regulations and standards.
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Service Manager, you will need:
- A Level 5 qualification in Health and Social Care (or actively working towards it).
- Proven experience supporting individuals with learning difficulties in a social care setting.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to influence others effectively.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends, and provide cover as required.
- A valid driver’s licence and access to your own car, with willingness to use it for transporting service users and attending meetings.
- Welsh language skills are desirable to communicate effectively with Welsh-speaking service users.
