The Opportunities

Due to increased demand for the 2026 academic year, we are recruiting Teaching Assistants, including ALN Teaching Assistants, to work across a range of educational settings:

  • Primary Schools – Foundation Phase & Key Stage 2

  • Secondary Schools – General classroom and subject-based support

  • ALN Provisions – Supporting learners with:

    • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

    • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

    • Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) needs

    • Speech & Language difficulties

    • Complex physical and medical needs

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Class Teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support, including Literacy, Numeracy, and Wellbeing interventions

  • Supporting pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) to access the curriculum effectively

  • Implementing strategies from IDPs, behaviour plans, and care plans

  • Promoting positive behaviour in line with school policies

  • Assisting with classroom preparation, resources, and displays

  • Supporting pupils with personal care and mobility where required (ALN roles)

Requirements

  • Qualifications: Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare, Education, or Supporting Teaching & Learning (desirable)

  • Experience: Previous experience working with children or young people (schools, ALN settings, care, youth work, or residential settings)

  • Registration: Registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) or willing to apply

  • Compliance: Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (Vetro can support new applications)
