Vetro Education is excited to be working with a well-respected secondary school in the Carmarthen area to find a dedicated and enthusiastic Biology Teacher.

This is a wonderful opportunity to become a key member of the science department and make a real impact on students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. You will take on the full responsibilities of a classroom teacher.

This full-time, long-term role will run Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 3:10 pm, starting in September 2025. You will be teaching a diverse range of students in Years 7, 8, and 9, as well as GCSE classes. The school welcomes applications from all passionate and qualified Biology teachers.

The Role: What You'll Be Doing:

  • Lead engaging and dynamic Biology lessons for students in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
  • Prepare stimulating classroom and laboratory environments and develop effective schemes of work where necessary.
  • Deliver the Biology curriculum in line with national guidelines.
  • Inspire learners through practical investigations and theoretical understanding of the living world.
  • Adhere to the school's behaviour management policies to create a positive and focused learning environment.

The Candidate: What You'll Need to Succeed:

  • At least 1 year of Biology teaching experience (consideration will be given to enthusiastic NQTs).
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent overseas teaching qualification.
  • Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) as a Teacher (we can provide support with this process).
  • References covering the last two years with no gaps in employment history.
  • A current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
  • The legal right to work in the UK.
