Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Children’s Manager to join a values-driven organisation in Llanfairfechan, Gwynedd. This role offers the opportunity to lead and support a team providing therapeutic care to children and young people in residential settings. Key Responsibilities:
As a Deputy Children’s Manager based in Llanfairfechan, your daily duties will include:

  • Leading care practices within the residential home and deputising for the Registered Manager
  • Overseeing staff supervision, development, and performance management
  • Ensuring compliance with safeguarding protocols and regulatory requirements
  • Working directly with children to promote positive relationships and outcomes
  • Planning shifts, allocating resources, and maintaining smooth day-to-day operations
  • Supporting the development and implementation of individual care and therapeutic plans
  • Collaborating with external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for young people
  • Promoting an inclusive, nurturing, and stable home environment

Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Deputy Children’s Manager, you will need:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) recognised by Wales - CIW / SCW
  • At least 1 year’s experience in a supervisory or management role in residential care
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in residential childcare
  • Willingness to complete Level 5 Leadership & Management qualification
  • Excellent understanding of child development, trauma-informed practice, and safeguarding
  • Proven team leadership, organisation, and delegation skills
  • Knowledge of regulations and legal frameworks in residential care
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Resilience, adaptability, and ability to work under pressure
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and sleep-ins
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development
