We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Children’s Manager to join a values-driven organisation in Llanfairfechan, Gwynedd. Key Responsibilities:
As a Deputy Children’s Manager based in Llanfairfechan, your daily duties will include:
- Leading care practices within the residential home and deputising for the Registered Manager
- Overseeing staff supervision, development, and performance management
- Ensuring compliance with safeguarding protocols and regulatory requirements
- Working directly with children to promote positive relationships and outcomes
- Planning shifts, allocating resources, and maintaining smooth day-to-day operations
- Supporting the development and implementation of individual care and therapeutic plans
- Collaborating with external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for young people
- Promoting an inclusive, nurturing, and stable home environment
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Deputy Children’s Manager, you will need:
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) recognised by Wales - CIW / SCW
- At least 1 year’s experience in a supervisory or management role in residential care
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in residential childcare
- Willingness to complete Level 5 Leadership & Management qualification
- Excellent understanding of child development, trauma-informed practice, and safeguarding
- Proven team leadership, organisation, and delegation skills
- Knowledge of regulations and legal frameworks in residential care
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Resilience, adaptability, and ability to work under pressure
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and sleep-ins
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
