Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Deputy Care Manager to join our children’s home in Abergavenny, Monmouthshire. This role offers a flexible working pattern, primarily Monday to Friday, with some adjustments based on individual needs. The successful candidate will support up to four young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties in a nurturing, semi-rural environment designed to promote security and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Deputy Care Manager based in Abergavenny, your daily duties will include:
- Supporting the registered manager in the operational management of the home, ensuring compliance with all regulations and organisational policies.
- Deputising in the manager’s absence and providing leadership to staff members.
- Supporting young people through therapeutic care approaches, fostering a safe and supportive environment.
- Contributing to the development and implementation of care plans tailored to individual needs.
- Ensuring health and safety protocols are followed, including risk assessments and statutory requirements.
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Deputy Care Manager, you will need:
- Essential Qualification: QCF/NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
- Required Experience: Previous experience as a Deputy Manager or Shift Leader within a residential setting.
- Mandatory Compliance: Full UK manual driving licence.
- Additional Skills: Strong communication skills, ability to remain calm under pressure, basic IT skills, and flexibility in working hours.
- Desirable: Level 4 qualification in Health & Social Care, registration with Social Care Wales, experience working with children, and Welsh language skills.
