Job Title: Children’s Registered Manager (Children’s Home Manager)
Location: Manchester, Greater Manchester, United Kingdom
Salary: Up to £65,000 (plus bonuses)
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Children’s Registered Manager to lead a children’s residential care home in Manchester. This role focuses on safe, compliant management of an OFSTED-regulated service, supporting young people with EBD, and developing a strong, well-led staff team. The Children’s Registered Manager will work closely with RI and SMT to ensure the home consistently meets OFSTED standards and delivers high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the Children’s Registered Manager for the children’s home in Manchester, working with RI to ensure safe, effective residential care
- Hold and maintain OFSTED registration for the children’s home
- Manage the residential service, providing expert support to young people with EBD
- Recruit, manage, and develop the residential staff team alongside the HR team
- Lead and oversee residential staff including Deputies, Team Leaders, and Support Workers
- Ensure the service meets OFSTED standards and company policies and procedures
- Lead quality assurance activities and drive continuous improvement
- Manage the home’s budget and support financial accountability
- Work full-time, Monday–Friday, with on-call duties as required
Requirements:
- Level 5 in leadership and management
- Deputy or Registered Manager experience within a children’s residential setting
- Strong knowledge of OFSTED expectations and compliance requirements
- Proven leadership experience managing teams and supporting staff development
- Ability to manage budgets and maintain high standards of care
