Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Manager to lead a well-established 3-bed SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) children’s home near Tiverton. This role offers the opportunity to shape a nurturing environment for children with complex needs, within a service rated "Good" by Ofsted. The successful candidate will have the autonomy to recruit and develop their team, and to embed therapeutic practices into daily care.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Registered Manager based in Tiverton, your daily duties will include:
- Leading and managing the children’s home to ensure high standards of care and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Developing and implementing therapeutic care plans, supported by an internal team of therapists including OTs, SALT, Art, Drama, and Music therapists.
- Recruiting, training, and supervising staff to create a positive, therapeutic home environment.
- Building strong relationships with children, their families, and the local community to promote well-being and positive outcomes.
- Organising engaging outdoor activities and adventure-based programmes, leveraging local knowledge to enrich children’s experiences.
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Registered Manager in this setting, you will need:
- A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management (Children’s Residential).
- Proven experience as a Registered or Deputy Manager within an SEMH residential setting.
- A therapeutic mindset, with the ability to lead a team using therapeutic language and PACE-style approaches.
- Strong knowledge of local community resources and activities to support children’s development.
- Mandatory compliance with an Enhanced DBS Check and a Full UK Driving Licence.
