Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Registered Manager to oversee a residential children’s home in Coventry. This pivotal role involves leading a dedicated team to deliver high-quality, compassionate care aligned with legislative standards and the organisation’s Statement of Purpose. The successful candidate will be committed to promoting positive outcomes for young people and ensuring the home operates efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Registered Manager based in Coventry, your daily duties will include:
- Managing the residential home to ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and the Statement of Purpose.
- Developing and implementing a service development plan to maintain high standards of care.
- Supporting and supervising staff to deliver exceptional care and achieve professional growth.
- Coordinating casework, administrative functions, and evaluating service performance.
- Leading recruitment, induction, and ongoing training of staff to meet the needs of young people.
- Building strong relationships with internal teams, external agencies, and families to support young people's well-being.
- Ensuring all clinical practices, medication procedures, and safeguarding protocols are followed in line with legislation.
- Managing budgets and maintaining a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment.
- Preparing documentation for regulatory inspections and liaising with oversight bodies.
- Participating in on-call duties and contributing to the organisation’s wider management activities.
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Registered Manager, you will need:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management in Residential Childcare or equivalent qualification.
- A minimum of three years’ senior experience within a children’s home or social care setting.
- Strong knowledge of Children’s Homes Regulations and National Care Standards.
- Proven leadership, management, and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and report-writing abilities.
- A sound understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and health & safety legislation.
- Mandatory compliance with an Enhanced DBS Check and Full UK Driving Licence.
