Shifts: 8am-11pm - 1 day on, 2 days off
Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Support Worker/Deputy Manager to join our family-run children’s residential home in Hinckley. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people with complex needs, providing both hands-on care and leadership within a supportive team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior Support Worker/Deputy Manager based in Hinckley, your daily duties will include:
- Leading and supporting a small team of Residential Support Workers to deliver high-quality care.
- Building positive, trusting relationships with young people to promote their welfare and independence.
- Overseeing daily routines, activities, appointments, and individualised support plans.
- Promoting safeguarding, dignity, and emotional wellbeing, while managing challenging behaviour with therapeutic approaches.
- Contributing to care planning, risk assessments, and multi-agency meetings to ensure the best outcomes for young people.
- Maintaining accurate records, reports, and documentation to support ongoing care and compliance.
- Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the home, including household tasks and maintaining a safe, welcoming environment.
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Senior Support Worker/Deputy Manager, you will need:
- NVQ/QCF Level 3 or 4 in Residential Childcare, or be working towards this qualification.
- At least 2 years’ experience within a children’s residential care setting.
- Experience supporting young people with ASC, mental health, emotional, or behavioural needs.
- A good understanding of safeguarding and childcare legislation.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Confidence and resilience to manage challenging situations.
- A full UK driving licence.
- A clean enhanced DBS check or willingness to complete the required checks.
