Job Title: Children’s Residential Support Worker

Salary: £30,273 to £34,275 (Inclusive of sleep-ins)
Job Description:

As a Children’s Residential Support Worker in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, UK, you’ll support young people aged 14–17 with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) in a safe, nurturing residential setting. This Children’s Residential Support Worker role offers the chance to engage in meaningful day-to-day activities—sports, arts and crafts, and outings—while helping young people build social, emotional, and behavioural resilience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Encourage young people to participate in activities and foster responsibility according to their age as a Children’s Residential Support Worker in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, UK
- Provide support that promotes independence and well-being within a therapeutic care environment
- Ensure safety and welfare by following individual care plans, guidelines, and reward systems
- Support and manage challenging behaviours safely and sympathetically to maintain a secure environment

- Protect children from risks to health and safety, maintaining a protective environment
- Maintain a welcoming, friendly atmosphere of the home
Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people in social care or related environments (desirable)
- Must be a driver to enable transportation of young people when required (essential)
- Must be over 22 years old (essential)
- NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Children & Young People (desirable)
- Availability for long day shifts and sleep-ins
