This rewarding role involves supporting young people aged 8-18 with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and challenging behaviours. Key Responsibilities:
- Encourage young people to participate in activities and take responsibility for their own lives, appropriate to their age.
- Maintain a homely, friendly environment within the residential home.
- Deal with challenging behaviours safely and sympathetically.
- Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
- Support young people to develop independence and well-being.
- Ensure a safe environment and keep up-to-date with individual care plans and communication preferences.
- Develop positive relationships with staff, parents, social workers, and other professionals involved in the young people's lives.
Requirements:
- Experience as a Children's Support Worker or with young people is desirable but not essential.
- Experience within healthcare or social care settings is advantageous.
- Must hold a Full UK Driving Licence, as transportation of young people may be required.
- Must be over 21 years of age.
- Ability to commute to Plymouth.
- Passionate about supporting young people aged 8-16 with EBD and eager to develop a career in health and social care.

Working Hours: 40 hours per week, with shift patterns including 16-24 hour shifts (including sleep-ins) on a one-on-two or two-on-four-off basis.
