Key Responsibilities:
- Encourage young people to participate in activities and take responsibility for their own lives, appropriate to their age.
- Maintain a homely, friendly environment within the residential setting.
- Manage challenging behaviours with patience and professionalism.
- Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
- Support young people to develop independence and well-being.
- Ensure a safe environment and uphold care plans, guidelines, and communication methods.
- Build positive relationships with staff, parents, social workers, and other professionals involved in the young people's lives.
Requirements:
- Experience as a Children's Residential Support Worker or with young people in a social care setting is desirable.
- Experience within healthcare or social care is advantageous.
- Must hold a full UK driving licence, as transportation of young people may be required.
- Over the age of 21.
- NVQ or QCF Level 3 in Children & Young People is desirable.
- Ability to commute to Shrewsbury.
