Job Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Children's Residential Support Worker to join a leading specialist provider in Shrewsbury. This role is ideal for enthusiastic, resilient, and motivated individuals who want to support young people aged 8-18 with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). As a Children's Residential Support Worker, you will help young people develop socially, emotionally, and behaviourally in a safe and caring environment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Encourage young people to participate in activities and take responsibility for their own lives, appropriate to their age.
  • Maintain a homely, friendly environment within the residential setting.
  • Manage challenging behaviours with patience and professionalism.
  • Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
  • Support young people to develop independence and well-being.
  • Ensure a safe environment and uphold care plans, guidelines, and communication methods.
  • Build positive relationships with staff, parents, social workers, and other professionals involved in the young people's lives.

Requirements:

  • Experience as a Children's Residential Support Worker or with young people in a social care setting is desirable.
  • Experience within healthcare or social care is advantageous.
  • Must hold a full UK driving licence, as transportation of young people may be required.
  • Over the age of 21.
  • NVQ or QCF Level 3 in Children & Young People is desirable.
  • Ability to commute to Shrewsbury.
  • Passion for supporting young people and making a difference in their lives.
