Job Title: Children's Residential Support Worker
Location: Witney, Oxfordshire
Salary: £31,493 to £34,495 ( Inclusive of sleep in's )
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and motivated individual to join a well-rated children’s residential service in Witney, as a Children's Residential Support Worker, you will support young people aged 8 to 18 years with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). This role offers a rewarding chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people, helping them develop socially, emotionally, and behaviourally in a safe and caring environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Encourage young people to participate in activities and take responsibility for their own lives, appropriate to their age.
- Maintain a homely, friendly environment within the residential setting.
- Deal with challenging behaviours safely and effectively.
- Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
- Support young people in promoting their independence and overall well-being.
- Ensure a safe environment by adhering to care plans, guidelines, and reward systems.
- Support young people through taxing behaviours with empathy and safety.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with staff, parents, social workers, and other professionals involved in the young people's care.
Requirements:
- Experience as a Children’s Residential Support Worker or with young people is desirable but not essential.
- Experience within healthcare or social care settings is advantageous.
- Must hold a full UK manual driver’s licence, as transportation of young people is required.
- Must be over the age of 21.
- Ability to commute to Witney
