We are seeking enthusiastic, resilient, and motivated Children's Support Workers to join a modern residential children’s home in Bodmin. This is a rewarding opportunity to support young people aged 8-16 with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and challenging behaviours. If you thrive in a busy, ever-changing environment and want to help young people develop socially, emotionally, and behaviourally, this role is perfect for you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Encourage young people to participate in activities and take responsibility for their own lives, depending on their age.
- Maintain a homely, friendly environment within the home.
- Deal with challenging behaviours safely and sympathetically.
- Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
- Support young people in promoting their independence and well-being.
- Ensure a safe environment and keep up-to-date with individual care plans, guidelines, and reward systems.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with staff, parents, social workers, and other professionals involved in the young people's lives.
Requirements:
- Full UK Driving Licence is essential, as transportation of young people may be required.
- Experience as a Children's Support Worker or in a related healthcare or social care setting is desirable but not essential.
- Must be over 21 years of age.
- Ability to commute to Crediton.
- Passion for supporting young people aged 8-16 with EBD and a desire to develop a career in health and social care.
