Job Description:
We are recruiting a Residential Childcare Worker to join a supportive children’s residential setting in 1848, England. This role focuses on safeguarding, therapeutic care, and helping young people feel safe, heard, and empowered to progress.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Residential Childcare Worker based in 1848, your daily duties will include:
- Providing safe, consistent, child-centred care with a strong focus on safeguarding and wellbeing
- Building positive, trusting relationships and acting as a professional role model within the home
- Completing accurate, factual records and incident reports using an in-house system, ensuring documentation is completed within 24 hours
- Supporting young people to access education, training, work opportunities, and therapeutic input (including wellbeing services)
- Implementing and updating Care Plans, Risk Assessments, and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Plans
- Working collaboratively with colleagues and external agencies (e.g., social workers, education providers, health and therapy services) in the best interests of young people
- Contributing to shift coordination and maintaining high standards aligned to relevant regulations and quality standards within 1848
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Residential Childcare Worker, you will need:
- Strong knowledge of Child Protection and Safeguarding practices
- Experience supporting children or young people in a residential or similarly regulated care setting
- Willingness to complete ongoing CPD (minimum 30 hours per year) and follow relevant statutory guidance and organisational policies
- Ability to produce clear, professional written records and reports to a high standard
