Residential Support Worker opportunities are available in Gloucester, Gloucestershire, supporting children and young people in a warm, nurturing residential setting. You’ll join a supportive, family-run care provider focused on trauma-informed, child-centred practice—helping young people feel safe, valued, and empowered to build brighter futures.
Key Responsibilities
As a Residential Support Worker based in Gloucester, your daily duties will include:
- Supporting children and young people to feel safe, cared for, and understood within a structured home environment in Gloucester
- Building positive, trusting relationships with children, families, and external professionals
- Promoting emotional wellbeing and helping young people develop independence and life skills
- Maintaining accurate records and reports using IT systems, in line with safeguarding expectations
- Supporting daily routines, activities, and care planning while working collaboratively with the wider team
Requirements & Qualifications
To be successful as a Residential Support Worker, you will need:
- Full UK Driving Licence (manual) held for at least 12 months
- Willingness to work shift patterns, including weekends
- Ability to work within a safeguarding and trauma-informed environment
- (Desirable) Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) — training can be provided
- (Desirable) Experience supporting children and young people who have experienced trauma
