Job Description

Residential Support Worker opportunities are available in Gloucester, Gloucestershire, supporting children and young people in a warm, nurturing residential setting. You’ll join a supportive, family-run care provider focused on trauma-informed, child-centred practice—helping young people feel safe, valued, and empowered to build brighter futures.

Key Responsibilities

As a Residential Support Worker based in Gloucester, your daily duties will include:

Supporting children and young people to feel safe, cared for, and understood within a structured home environment in Gloucester
Building positive, trusting relationships with children, families, and external professionals
Promoting emotional wellbeing and helping young people develop independence and life skills
Maintaining accurate records and reports using IT systems, in line with safeguarding expectations
Supporting daily routines, activities, and care planning while working collaboratively with the wider team

Requirements & Qualifications

To be successful as a Residential Support Worker, you will need:

Full UK Driving Licence (manual) held for at least 12 months
Willingness to work shift patterns, including weekends
Ability to work within a safeguarding and trauma-informed environment
(Desirable) Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) — training can be provided
(Desirable) Experience supporting children and young people who have experienced trauma
