We are seeking a dedicated Residential Support Worker to join a leading children’s care provider in Copplestone, Devon. This role involves supporting children within a specialised residential setting, ensuring their safety, development, and well-being are prioritised. The successful candidate will work as part of a committed team to deliver personalised care and support tailored to each child's needs.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Residential Support Worker based in Copplestone, Devon, your daily duties will include:
- Planning and supporting children’s weekly activities, ensuring their voices are heard and their safety is maintained.
- Following individualised Placement Plans and supporting children’s educational attendance and engagement.
- Providing a safe, nurturing environment that promotes emotional, social, and educational development.
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation within the home.
- Recording daily activities, incidents, and relevant information accurately and promptly.
- Supporting children with life skills, including personal hygiene and household responsibilities.
- Accompanying children on outdoor activities and outings, ensuring their safety at all times.
- Responding appropriately to behavioural challenges, following de-escalation techniques and behaviour support plans.
- Raising concerns or issues with senior management and participating in team meetings and training sessions.
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Residential Support Worker, you will need:
- Relevant Childcare or Social Care qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Children’s Care, Learning and Development).
- Experience working with children in a residential or similar setting.
- Mandatory Enhanced DBS Check and Full UK Driving Licence.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- A compassionate, patient, and proactive approach to supporting children’s needs.
