Job Description:
Children's Residential Support Worker opportunities are available within a therapeutic children’s home in Taunton, Somerset. You’ll support children and young people aged 5–18 who have experienced trauma and may have emotional, behavioural, or complex needs, helping them feel safe, valued, and able to progress.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Children's Residential Support Worker based in Taunton, Somerset, your daily duties will include:
- Providing consistent day-to-day care that supports children’s physical, emotional, and social development within a therapeutic home setting in Taunton, Somerset
- Creating and maintaining a safe, nurturing environment, supporting routines, education, and attendance at medical appointments
- Working collaboratively with colleagues, external professionals, and agencies to deliver holistic, child-centred support
- Maintaining accurate electronic records and documentation in line with safeguarding and care standards
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Children's Residential Support Worker, you will need:
- Experience supporting children and young people, ideally within a residential or similarly structured care setting
- A strong understanding of child development and the impact of trauma
- Excellent communication skills and a calm, proactive approach
- Full UK Driving Licence (essential)
- Enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references (mandatory)
