Job Description:
We are recruiting a Residential Childcare Worker to join a therapeutic children’s home in Holford, Somerset. This role supports children and young people aged 5–18 who have experienced trauma and may have emotional, behavioural, or complex needs, helping them feel safe, heard, and supported.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Residential Childcare Worker based in Holford, your daily duties will include:
- Supporting the physical, emotional, and social development of children and young people within a therapeutic home setting in Holford
- Creating and maintaining a safe, nurturing, and structured environment, including support with routines, appointments, and day-to-day wellbeing
- Working collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals to deliver consistent, child-centred care plans
- Maintaining accurate electronic records and documentation in line with safeguarding and organisational standards
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Residential Childcare Worker, you will need:
- Experience supporting children and young people, ideally within a residential or similarly structured care setting
- A strong understanding of child development and the impact of trauma
- Excellent communication skills and a calm, proactive approach
- Full UK Driving Licence (essential)
- Enhanced DBS clearance and satisfactory references (mandatory)
- Flexibility to work shifts, including sleep-ins (sleep-ins paid at £55 per night; salary shown includes seven sleep-ins per month)
