Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a driven and motivated individual to join a children’s residential service in High Wycombe as a Children's Residential Support Worker. This role involves supporting 12- to 18-year-olds with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). If you are outgoing, enthusiastic, and passionate about making a positive impact on young people's lives, this could be the perfect role for you. You will have the chance to help young people develop socially, emotionally, and behaviourally in a safe and caring environment, within a dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Children's Residential Support Worker based in High Wycombe, your daily duties will include:
- Encouraging young people to participate in activities and take responsibility for their own lives, appropriate to their age.
- Maintaining a homely, friendly environment within the residential setting.
- Dealing with challenging behaviours safely and sympathetically.
- Protecting children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
- Supporting young people in promoting their independence and overall well-being.
- Ensuring a safe environment and keeping up-to-date with individual care plans, guidelines, and communication methods.
- Developing and maintaining positive relationships with staff, parents, social workers, and other professionals involved in the young people's lives.
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Children's Residential Support Worker, you will need:
- Experience in a similar role or with young people is desirable but not essential.
- Experience within healthcare or social care settings is advantageous.
- Must hold a full UK manual driving licence, as transportation of young people may be required.
- Must be over the age of 21.
- Ability to commute to High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire.
