Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Residential Support Worker to join a lively and energetic children’s home in the Cardiff area. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young people by providing a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment. You will be part of a caring team led by a registered manager, committed to fostering positive experiences and personal growth for each child.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Residential Support Worker based in the Cardiff area, your daily duties will include:
- Providing therapeutic care and emotional support tailored to each child's needs
- Acting as a positive role model to promote independence and confidence
- Supporting children with daily living tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and engaging in shared interests like fashion and art
- Building trusting relationships and encouraging hobbies and outdoor activities
- Assisting with household tasks and maintaining a safe, homely environment
- Supporting children to overcome challenges and reach their full potential
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Residential Support Worker, you will need:
- Previous experience working with children and young people in a care setting
- A full UK driving licence is essential
- The ability to remain calm, show resilience, and work flexibly, including shifts and sleep-ins
- Excellent communication skills and a positive, energetic attitude
- A caring nature and genuine interest in supporting young people's development
