Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Residential Support Worker to join our new Emotional Wellbeing Assessment Home in Hinckley, Leicestershire. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children and young people aged 8-18 within a supportive and nurturing environment. The service provides short-term placements to help young people develop confidence, independence, and social skills.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Residential Support Worker based in Hinckley, your daily duties will include:

  • Building trust and developing nurturing relationships to promote the wellbeing and independence of young people.
  • Working in partnership with parents, carers, and professionals to support each child's needs.
  • Contributing to the upkeep of the home, including cooking, cleaning, and maintaining a safe environment.
  • Accurately documenting information and ensuring records are kept up to date.
  • Adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures to protect vulnerable children and young people.
  • Promoting a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment at all times.

Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Residential Support Worker, you will need:

  • A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or willingness to achieve this within the required timeframe.
  • Motivation to create a safe space and build resilience in young people.
  • A good understanding of safeguarding and protection of vulnerable children and young people.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including sleep-ins, weekends, and bank holidays.
  • Relevant experience working with children and young people is desirable but not essential; a positive attitude and willingness to learn are equally valued.
