Are you a motivated and resilient individual passionate about making a positive impact on young people's lives? A leading specialist provider is seeking a dedicated Children's Residential Support Worker to join a “good” children’s residential service in Ely, Cambridgeshire.
This full-time, permanent role offers an engaging environment where you can support young people aged 8 to 18 years with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). Key Responsibilities:
- Encourage young people to participate in activities and take responsibility for their own lives, tailored to their age.
- Maintain a homely, friendly environment within the residential setting.
- Deal with challenging behaviours safely and sympathetically.
- Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
- Support young people in promoting independence and overall well-being.
- Ensure a safe environment by adhering to care plans, guidelines, and communication methods.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with staff, parents, social workers, and other professionals involved in the young people's lives.
Requirements:
- Experience as a Children’s Residential Support Worker or with young people is desirable but not essential.
- Experience within healthcare or social care settings is advantageous.
- Must hold a full UK manual driver’s licence, as transportation of young people may be required.
- Over the age of 21.
- Ability to commute to Ely, Cambridgeshire.
