Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Residential Support Worker to join a leading care provider in Tewkesbury. The home is set in a beautiful rural location with nice gardens.
In this role, you will play a vital part in creating a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment for children and young people who may have experienced trauma or instability. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact within a supportive team.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Residential Support Worker based in Tewkesbury, your daily duties will include:
- Providing day-to-day care and emotional support to children and young people, ensuring they feel safe, valued, and understood.
- Supporting children in their education and development of independence and life skills.
- Responding to challenging behaviours with resilience, calmness, and therapeutic approaches.
- Working within a rota system, including evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and sleep-ins, to ensure children always have trusted adults available.
- Maintaining accurate records and contributing to care plans in line with statutory requirements.
- Developing strong, professional relationships with families, social workers, and other agencies to support the child's wellbeing.
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Residential Support Worker, you will need:
- Good standard of education (GCSE or equivalent).
- Willingness to undertake Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (if not already held).
- Full UK driving licence.
- Basic IT skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to work shifts, including sleep-ins and weekends.
- Experience in social care or related settings is desirable but not essential.
