We are seeking a dedicated Support Worker to join a reputable organisation based in Bideford, Devon. This role involves providing high-quality care within a residential setting for children and young people, ensuring a safe, caring, and supportive environment that promotes their development and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Support Worker in Bideford, your daily duties will include:
- Creating and maintaining a safe, caring environment for children and young people in line with organisational policies.
- Recording all accidents, incidents, and physical interventions accurately and challenging inappropriate practice when necessary.
- Promoting safeguarding and protecting the welfare of each child, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Building positive, trusting relationships with young people to foster their sense of security and independence.
- Supporting healthcare needs, including attending medical appointments and completing relevant reports.
- Assisting with daily routines such as meal preparation, domestic chores, and maintaining a clean, welcoming home environment.

- Collaborating with professionals, families, and carers to ensure the best outcomes for each child.
- Participating in staff meetings, training, and shift handovers to ensure continuity of care.

Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Support Worker, you will need:
- Relevant qualification such as NVQ Level 3 in Children’s Care or equivalent.
- Experience working in a similar residential or childcare setting.
- Mandatory compliance with an Enhanced DBS check and a full UK driving licence (if applicable).
- Strong communication skills, patience, and a compassionate approach to care.
