The Opportunity: Empowering Young Lives

We are seeking a dedicated and inspiring Children's Support Worker to join a supportive residential service. In this rewarding role, you will actively contribute to cultivating a positive, safe, and nurturing environment where young people experience emotional security, happiness, and personal growth.

As a children's support worker, you will act as a role model, establishing respectful relationships with the children in our care and guiding them through their personal and social development.

Key Responsibilities

Your role will encompass daily support, therapeutic guidance, and operational assistance within the home:

  • Support & Guidance: Build constructive, respectful relationships with young people, reinforcing positive social behaviours and offering guidance on personal development.
  • Activities & Enrichment: Plan and engage young people in recreational and socially enriching leisure activities both inside and outside the home.
  • Team Collaboration: Attend staff meetings, participate in training, and assist with the orientation and initial support of new team members.
  • Operational Leadership: Step up to cover the responsibilities of the Senior Care Mentor when they are unavailable, ensuring the smooth running of the shift.
  • Assessment & Documentation: Utilise internal tracking tools to maintain accurate, professional casework records, create social/emotional reports, and contribute to Annual Multi-disciplinary Reviews.
  • Logistics & Safety: Provide safe transportation for young people to school, appointments, and social activities. Maintain clean, orderly, and hygienic living spaces.

What We Are Looking For

  • Qualifications: A Level 3 NVQ/Diploma in Childcare (or equivalent) is highly desirable. Candidates without this qualification must demonstrate a commitment to working towards it.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, conflict management, and interpersonal skills. The ability to maintain strict confidentiality is mandatory.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work a flexible rota, including a share of weekend shifts, sleep-ins, and on-call duties as required.
  • Driving Licence: A full UK driving licence is required to transport young people safely.

Rewards and Benefits

Our client deeply values staff dedication and provides an excellent package to promote longevity and professional satisfaction:

  • Generous Annual Leave: 5.6 weeks of annual leave, plus additional "Service Days" awarded for each year of service (up to 5 extra days).
  • Enhanced Overtime: Higher hourly rates (1.25x) to reward extra hours worked.
  • Professional Development: Fully funded, ongoing training and clear internal career progression pathways.
  • Financial Incentives: Highly competitive sleep-in and on-call shift enhancements.

Safeguarding & Recruitment: Our client is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable young adults. All successful applications will be subject to a safer recruitment process, including a satisfactory Enhanced DBS check and comprehensive reference verification.
