Job Description:
Our client, a leading organisation dedicated to supporting young people, is seeking a Children’s Support Worker to join their team in Barry, Vale of Glamorgan. As a Children’s Support Worker based in Barry, your daily responsibilities will focus on providing high-quality care, fostering independence, and promoting positive development for young people. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver tailored support that meets individual needs and encourages resilience.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Children’s Support Worker in Barry, your duties will include:

• Building positive relationships with young people through effective key working and support planning.
• Completing risk assessments and updating support plans in line with organisational policies.
• Supporting young people to attend education, participate in activities, and develop life skills.
• Promoting safeguarding protocols and responding promptly to safeguarding concerns.
• Encouraging healthy lifestyles, including nutritious meal planning and preparation.
• Ensuring the home environment is safe, welcoming, and well-maintained.
• Facilitating smooth shift handovers and effective communication within the team.
• Supporting young people to manage their finances and plan for their futures.

Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Children’s Support Worker, you will need:

• A QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) or equivalent, or willingness to work towards within the required timeframe.
• Experience working with children and young people in a safeguarding or trauma-informed environment.
• Knowledge of risk management and de-escalation techniques.
• Mandatory compliance with a Enhanced DBS Check and a full UK driving licence.
