We are seeking a dedicated Residential Childcare Worker to join our team in Barry, Vale of Glamorgan. This role involves providing high-quality care and support to young people aged 14 and above within a registered children’s home. The successful candidate will work within a nurturing environment, ensuring the safety, emotional well-being, and development of the young people in our care.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Residential Childcare Worker based in Barry, your daily duties will include:
- Providing emotional and physical care to young people, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
- Supporting young people to build and manage relationships with their families and external partners.
- Using trauma-informed and child-centred approaches to deliver personalised support.
- Recording and evidencing all key work activities in line with organisational and regulatory standards.
- Assisting the management team in managing risks, safeguarding concerns, and health and safety issues.
- Creating a warm, welcoming, and non-judgemental home environment where young people can thrive.
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Residential Childcare Worker, you will need:
- An NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People or equivalent qualification.
- Experience working with vulnerable young people in a residential or similar setting.
- Mandatory compliance with Enhanced DBS Check and full UK driving licence.
