Job Description
A Children’s Support Worker is required for a supportive residential service in Bexhill, East Sussex. You’ll help create a safe, positive, and nurturing home where young people feel secure, supported, and able to thrive. This is a hands-on role focused on relationship-building, daily care, and promoting personal development.
Key Responsibilities
As a Children’s Support Worker based in Bexhill, your daily duties will include:
- Building respectful, consistent relationships with young people and reinforcing positive behaviours
- Planning and supporting engaging activities inside the home and within the local community
- Attending team meetings and training, and supporting new starters during their induction
- Supporting shift continuity by stepping up to cover senior duties when required
- Completing accurate case notes and contributing to reviews and reports using internal systems
- Providing safe transport to school, appointments, and activities, and maintaining a clean, safe living environment in Bexhill
Requirements & Qualifications
To be successful as a Children’s Support Worker, you will need:
- NVQ/Diploma Level 3 in Children and Young People (desirable) — or a commitment to work towards it
- Experience supporting children/young people in a residential or similar care setting (preferred)
- Strong communication, conflict management, and interpersonal skills, with strict confidentiality
- Flexibility to work a rota including weekends, sleep-ins, and on-call duties
- Full UK driving licence
- Enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references (safer recruitment process)
