Job Title: Young Persons Support Worker
Location: Barry, Wales
Salary: £14.24 - £28.48 per hour (DOE)

Job Description:
Are you passionate about making a positive impact on young people's lives? A leading specialist provider is seeking dedicated Young Persons Support Workers to join their team in Barry. This role offers an excellent opportunity to support children and young people facing challenges such as homelessness, mental health issues, trauma, and substance misuse. If you are empathetic, resilient, and committed to creating meaningful change, this could be the perfect role for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support children and young people in their daily activities and interests
  • Promote independence and wellbeing of young clients
  • Attend weekends away, holidays, and trips with children and young people
  • Support and participate in weekend and evening activities, from climbing to baking or trips to Butlins
  • Protect children and young people from health and safety risks
  • Provide emotional and practical support within the home environment
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of care plans and guidelines to ensure safety
  • Support behaviour management and minimise incidents when behaviour is challenging

Requirements:

  • A genuine desire to create positive outcomes for vulnerable children and young people
  • Empathetic, caring, and resilient nature
  • At least 6 months’ experience working with children or within a social care setting
  • Restraint trained or willing to undertake a 3-day restraint training course
  • Valid UK Driving Licence
  • Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willing to obtain one
  • Right to work in the UK
