Job Title: Children's Support Worker
Location: Merthyr, Wales, UK
Salary: £14.50 - £29 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay)

Job Description:

Our client is seeking dedicated Children's Support Workers to join a residential home in Merthyr. This role offers an opportunity to support children and young people in their daily activities, promote independence, and ensure their safety and wellbeing. If you are empathetic, resilient, and driven to create meaningful change, this could be the perfect role for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support children and young people in all daily activities and interests
  • Attend weekends away, holidays, and trips with the children
  • Support and promote the young persons' independence and wellbeing
  • Attend weekend and evening activities to support children’s interests, from climbing to baking or weekends away in Butlins
  • Protect children from health and welfare risks
  • Provide emotional and practical support to young people in your care
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of care plans and guidelines to ensure safety
  • Support and help minimise challenging behaviour incidents

Requirements:

  • A genuine desire to create positive outcomes for vulnerable children and young people
  • Empathetic, caring, and resilient nature
  • At least 6 months’ experience working with children or within a similar social care setting
  • TMVA - Restraint Training Certificate or willingness to undergo the 3-day course
  • Valid UK Driving Licence
  • Current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
  • Right to work in the UK
