Job Title: Children's Support Worker

Salary: £14.50 - £29 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay)

Job Description:
We are seeking dedicated Children's Support Workers to join a residential care setting in Merthyr, Wales. This role offers an opportunity to support vulnerable children and young people, helping them develop independence and ensuring their safety and wellbeing within a nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Children's Support Worker based in Merthyr, your daily duties will include:
- Supporting children and young people in all daily activities and interests
- Attending weekends away, holidays, and trips with the children
- Promoting independence and wellbeing of young people
- Assisting with weekend and evening activities, from climbing to baking or trips to Butlins
- Protecting children from health and welfare risks
- Providing emotional and practical support to young people in your care
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of care plans and safety guidelines
- Supporting the team to minimise challenging behaviour incidents
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Children's Support Worker, you will need:
- A genuine desire to create positive outcomes for vulnerable children and young people
- Empathetic, caring, and resilient nature
- At least 6 months’ experience working with children or within a similar social care setting
- TMVA - Restraint Training Certificate or willingness to undergo the 3-day course
- Valid UK Driving Licence
- Current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
- Right to work in the UK
