Key Responsibilities:
As a Relief Support Worker based in Pontyclun, your daily duties will include:
- Supporting children and young people in their daily routines and interests
- Attending weekends away, holidays, and trips with the children
- Supporting and participating in weekend and evening activities, from climbing to baking or trips to Butlins
- Promoting the young person's independence and overall wellbeing
- Protecting children and young people from health and safety risks
- Providing emotional and practical support within the home environment
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of care plans and safety guidelines
- Assisting in managing challenging behaviour and minimising incidents effectively
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Relief Support Worker, you will need:
- Experience working with children or within a social care setting (minimum 6 months)
- Strong relationship-building skills and resilience in challenging situations
- Understanding of trauma, homelessness, domestic abuse, and their impacts
- Crisis response awareness and emotional resilience
- Empathetic, caring, and adaptable nature
- TMVA - Restraint Training certificate or willingness to undergo training
- Valid UK driving licence
- Current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
- Right to work in the UK
