Our client, a leading social care provider, is seeking a dedicated Young Persons Support Worker to join their team in Llandrindod Wells. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable young people facing challenges such as homelessness, mental health issues, trauma, and substance misuse. The position involves working within a supportive environment that promotes independence and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Young Persons Support Worker based in Llandrindod Wells, your daily duties will include:
- Supporting young people in their day-to-day activities and interests, fostering independence and resilience.
- Attending weekends away, holidays, and trips to provide consistent support and engagement.
- Promoting the safety, health, and welfare of young people by adhering to care plans and guidelines.
- Assisting in managing challenging behaviour and supporting emotional and practical needs.
- Ensuring a safe environment by maintaining up-to-date knowledge of care procedures and incident management.
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Young Persons Support Worker, you will need:
- A genuine desire to create positive outcomes for vulnerable young people.
- Empathy, resilience, and a caring nature.
- At least 6 months’ experience working with children or within a social care setting.
- Restraint training (TMVA) or willingness to undertake a 3-day course.
- A valid UK Driving Licence.
- An Enhanced DBS check on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
- The right to work in the UK.
