Job Description:
Our client, a leading social care provider, is seeking dedicated Children's Support Workers to join their residential services in Barry. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young people who have been taken into care, supporting their development and wellbeing within a nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Children's Support Worker based in Barry, your daily duties will include:
- Supporting children and young people in their day-to-day activities and interests, fostering independence and confidence.
- Attending weekends away, holidays, and trips to provide consistent support and build positive relationships.
- Promoting the safety, health, and welfare of young people by adhering to care plans and safeguarding guidelines.
- Assisting with behavioural management and helping to minimise challenging incidents through emotional and practical support.
- Participating in evening and weekend activities, from outdoor adventures to creative pursuits, to enrich the young people's experiences.
- Attending training sessions, including restraint training, to ensure a safe and supportive environment.
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Children's Support Worker, you will need:
- A genuine desire to create positive outcomes for vulnerable children and young people.
- Empathetic, caring, and resilient nature, with at least 6 months' experience working with children or within a social care setting.
- A valid UK Driving Licence.
- A current Enhanced DBS check on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
- Restraint training certification (TMVA) or willingness to attend training.
