Our client, a leading social care organisation, is seeking a dedicated Supported Living / Housing Support Worker to join their team in Pontypridd This role involves providing practical, emotional, and developmental support to young people aged 16–25 living in supported or transitional accommodation, helping them build independence and achieve personal goals.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Supported Living / Housing Support Worker based in Pontypridd, your daily duties will include:
- Supporting young people to maintain safe, clean, and stable accommodation
- Assisting with daily living tasks such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, and grocery shopping
- Supporting tenancy responsibilities, including rent payments, property care, and neighbour relations
- Building positive, trusting relationships using a trauma-informed and strengths-based approach
- Supporting emotional well-being and social connection
- Encouraging participation in education, training, employment, and community activities
- Working alongside case workers, youth workers, and external services to support young people’s needs
- Supporting young people to attend appointments (health, education, housing, legal)
- Contributing to support plans, progress notes, and incident reports
- Maintaining a safe environment and responding to incidents in line with organisational policies
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Supported Living / Housing Support Worker, you will need:
- An empathetic approach and strong value base
- Ideally, some experience within a social care or supported housing environment
- Mandatory compliance with safeguarding procedures and an enhanced DBS check
- A full UK driving licence is desirable but not essential
