Key Responsibilities:
As a Children's Support Worker based in Barry, your daily duties will include:
- Supporting children and young people with their day-to-day activities and interests.
- Promoting independence and wellbeing through personalised care plans.
- Attending trips, weekends away, and activities to enrich the young people's experiences.
- Providing emotional and practical support to ensure their safety and development.
- Assisting with behaviour management and incident minimisation, following care guidelines.
- Attending training sessions, including restraint training, to enhance your skills.
- Ensuring the safety and welfare of children by maintaining up-to-date knowledge of care plans.
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Children's Support Worker, you will need:
- A genuine desire to create positive outcomes for children and young people.
- Empathetic, caring, and resilient nature.
- At least 6 months' experience working with children or within a similar social care setting.
- A valid UK Driving Licence.
- A current Enhanced DBS check on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
- Restraint training certification (TMVA) or willingness to attend training.
