Children Support Worker

Vetro Social Care is seeking dedicated Children's Support Workers for Children’s Residential Services in Cwmbran. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with children, providing support in a safe and nurturing environment.
Position Overview:
- Role: Children’s Support Worker
- Location: Cwmbran
- Hours: 7:45am – 11:00pm, including sleep-in shifts
- Pay: £14.24 – £28.48 (inclusive of holiday pay)
- Requirements: Valid UK Driving Licence, willingness to undergo restraint training

Key Responsibilities:
- Support children and young people with daily activities and interests, fostering independence and wellbeing
- Participate in weekends away, holidays, and trips, ensuring safety and engagement
- Support children during weekend and evening activities, from climbing to baking or trips to Butlins
- Maintain a safe environment by following care plans and safety guidelines
- Promote emotional and practical support to help children cope with challenges
- Protect children from risks to their health and welfare
- Assist in managing challenging behaviours, contributing to a positive and supportive atmosphere
- Attend and support children during activities that contribute to their development and enjoyment
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- A genuine desire to create positive outcomes for vulnerable children and young people
- Empathetic, caring, and resilient with a proactive attitude
- Minimum of 6 months experience working with children or in social care settings
- Restraint-trained or willing to undertake TMVA restraint training
- Hold a valid UK driving licence
- Possess a current Enhanced DBS check on the update service or be willing to obtain one
- Right to work in the UK
