Key Responsibilities:
As a Children's Support Worker based in Ebbw Vale, your daily duties will include:
- Supporting children and young people with their day-to-day activities, interests, and development.
- Promoting independence and wellbeing through personalised care plans.
- Attending weekends away, holidays, and trips to provide consistent support and supervision.
- Engaging in weekend and evening activities, from outdoor adventures to creative pursuits like baking or arts and crafts.
- Ensuring the safety and welfare of children by adhering to care guidelines and risk assessments.
- Providing emotional and practical support to help children overcome challenges and build resilience.
- Supporting behaviour management strategies, including de-escalation and incident minimisation.
- Attending training sessions, including restraint training, to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Children's Support Worker, you will need:
- A genuine desire to create positive outcomes for children and young people.
- Empathetic, caring, and resilient nature.
- At least 6 months experience working with children or within a social care setting.
- A valid TMVA - Restraint Training Certificate or willingness to undertake the 3-day course.
- A full UK Driving Licence.
- Hold a current Enhanced DBS check on the update service or be willing to obtain one.
- The right to work in the UK.
