Job Description
An established residential care provider is seeking dedicated Residential Care Workers to join their supportive teams across Cardiff, Mid Glamorgan. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young people within a caring, child-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
As a Residential Care Worker based in Cardiff, your daily duties will include:
- Providing day-to-day care and emotional support to children and young people, ensuring they feel safe and valued
- Supporting children with their routines, including meals, personal care, schoolwork, and recreational activities
- Building trusting relationships through active listening, talking, and encouraging confidence and social skills
- Maintaining accurate records of daily events, progress, and incidents in line with organisational policies
- Assisting children during outings or appointments, including driving when required, to ensure their safety and reassurance
- Collaborating closely with colleagues, families, social workers, and other professionals to deliver consistent, high-quality care
Requirements & Qualifications
To be successful as a Residential Care Worker, you will need:
- Relevant experience working with children or young people in a care setting
- Mandatory compliance such as an Enhanced DBS Check and Full UK Driving Licence
- A compassionate, energetic, and dedicated approach to supporting young people’s development
