Key Responsibilities
As a Children's Support Worker based in Merthyr Tydfil, your daily duties will include:
- Supporting children and young people with their routines, practical needs, and emotional wellbeing in line with care plans
- Promoting positive behaviour, maintaining professional boundaries, and using de-escalation techniques when required
- Working collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals to provide a consistent approach to support
- Completing clear, accurate records and incident reports to a high standard
- Helping create a safe, structured environment that supports independence, resilience, and life skills
Requirements & Qualifications
To be successful as a Children's Support Worker, you will need:
- Previous experience in a children’s residential, supported living, or similar care setting
- A strong understanding of safeguarding and professional practice when supporting vulnerable young people
- Mandatory compliance, including an Enhanced DBS Check (or willingness to obtain one)
