Job Title: Children’s Support Worker (Residential)

Salary: £13.68 - £28.40 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay)

Do you want to enable children and young people who have been taken into care to have the best possible start in life? As a Children’s Support Worker in Abercynon, you’ll work 2:1 with other staff members and support children in their homes. Key Responsibilities:

• Support children and young people with day-to-day activities and interests as a Children’s Support Worker in Abercynon
• Promote independence and wellbeing for children in your care
• Attend weekends away, holidays, and trips away with the children
• Support weekend and evening activities, from everyday interests to trips away
• Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare
• Provide emotional and practical support within the home
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of care plans and guidelines to ensure safety
• Support, overcome, and help minimise incidents when behaviour can be challenging

Requirements:

• A desire to create positive outcomes for vulnerable children and young people
• Empathetic, caring, and resilient nature
• At least 6 months’ experience working with children or in a similar social care setting
• Restraint training: restraint trained, or willing to undergo the 3-day course
• TMVA (Restraint Training Certificate)
• Valid UK driving licence (required)
• Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service, or be willing to obtain one
• Right to work in the UK
