Job Title: Children Support Worker

Salary: £14.24–£28.48 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay) / DOE
Job Description:
Are you passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable children and young people? As a Children Support Worker in Banwell, you’ll join a supportive team to deliver day-to-day care in a residential setting. This Children Support Worker role in Banwell offers immediate starts and flexible shift patterns, helping you build experience while supporting children to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support children and young people with daily activities, interests, and development needs, promoting independence and confidence
- Facilitate participation in recreational activities, outings, and trips, including weekends away and holidays
- Create a safe and supportive environment by following care plans and safeguarding policies
- Provide emotional and practical support tailored to each child’s individual needs
- Promote positive behaviour and help de-escalate challenging situations to ensure the safety and welfare of all residents
- Attend and assist during special events, outings, and activities that enhance social skills and social interaction
Requirements:
- A genuine desire to positively impact the lives of children and young people
- Empathetic, caring, and resilient approach, with a passion for social care
- At least 6 months’ experience working with children or in a similar social care environment
- Valid UK Driving Licence
- Current Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one
- Right to work in the UK
