We are seeking dedicated Young Adult Support Workers to join a leading specialist provider in Cardiff, Wales. This role involves supporting young adults aged 18-25 in homeless hostels, helping them develop independence and resilience within a supportive environment. Key Responsibilities:
As a Young Adult Support Worker based in Cardiff, your daily duties will include:
- Supporting young adults in all daily activities and interests
- Promoting independence and overall wellbeing of young people
- Protecting young people from risks to their health and welfare
- Providing emotional and practical support within the hostel environment
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of care plans and safety guidelines
- Assisting in managing challenging behaviour and minimising incidents
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Young Adult Support Worker, you will need:
- A genuine desire to create positive outcomes for vulnerable young people
- An empathetic, caring, and resilient nature
- At least 6 months’ experience working with children or within a social care setting
- Valid UK Driving Licence
- TMVA - Restraint Training Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willing to obtain one
- Right to work in the UK
