This role involves supporting children in their homes during waking night shifts, providing emotional and practical assistance to promote their independence and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
As a Children's Support Worker based in Caerleon, your daily duties will include:
- Supporting children and young people with their daily activities and interests
- Promoting independence and overall wellbeing of the young people
- Protecting children from risks to their health and welfare
- Providing emotional and practical support within the home environment
- Ensuring safety by maintaining up-to-date knowledge of care plans and guidelines
- Managing challenging behaviour and helping to minimise incidents
Requirements & Qualifications
To be successful as a Children's Support Worker, you will need:
- A minimum of 6 months’ experience working with children or within a similar social care setting
- An empathetic, caring, and resilient nature
- A current Enhanced DBS check on the update service or willingness to obtain one
- The right to work in the UK
