We are seeking dedicated Children's Support Workers to join a leading social care provider in Pontypool. In this role, you will work directly with children and young people in their homes, providing vital support to promote their independence, safety, and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
As a Children's Support Worker based in Pontypool, your daily duties will include:
- Supporting children and young people with their day-to-day activities and interests
- Promoting independence and overall wellbeing of the young people
- Protecting children from risks to their health and welfare
- Offering emotional and practical support within the home environment
- Ensuring safety by maintaining up-to-date knowledge of care plans and guidelines
- Managing challenging behaviour and helping to minimise incidents
Requirements & Qualifications
To be successful as a Children's Support Worker, you will need:
- At least 6 months’ experience working with children or within a similar social care setting
- A current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
- The right to work in the UK
- A compassionate, resilient, and empathetic nature with a genuine desire to support vulnerable children and young people
