We are seeking dedicated Children's Support Workers to join a leading social care provider in Abertillery. This role involves supporting children in their homes during waking night shifts, providing emotional and practical assistance to promote their independence and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
As a Children's Support Worker based in Abertillery, your daily duties will include:
- Supporting children and young people with their day-to-day activities and interests
- Promoting independence and overall wellbeing of the young people
- Ensuring the safety and protection of children by following care plans and guidelines
- Providing emotional support and practical assistance within the home environment
- Managing challenging behaviour and helping to minimise incidents effectively
Requirements & Qualifications
To be successful as a Children's Support Worker, you will need:
- At least 6 months’ experience working with children or within a similar social care setting
- A current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
- The right to work in the UK
- A compassionate, resilient, and empathetic nature with a genuine desire to support vulnerable children and young people
