Job Title: Support Worker (Temp to Perm)
Location: Merthyr Tydfil, Wales, United Kingdom
Salary: £14.24 - 28.48 including holiday
(12 weeks temporary work which can lead to a permanent position after 12 weeks).
Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Support Worker to join a leading social care provider in Merthyr Tydfil. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on young people's lives by providing holistic support within a safe and inclusive environment. The position involves working closely with young people to help them transition into independent living, employment, or education.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Support Worker based in Merthyr Tydfil, your daily duties will include:
- Offering day-to-day emotional and practical support to young people.
- Motivating and empowering young individuals to gain independence.
- Providing support and advice in line with support plans and keyworker requests.
- Working collaboratively as part of a dedicated team to deliver high-quality care.
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Support Worker, you will need:
- A minimum of 6 months experience working with children or within a similar social care setting.
- Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to engage with young people.
- An understanding of trauma, homelessness, and domestic abuse.
- A TMVA - Restraint Training Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
- A current UK Driving Licence.
- An Enhanced DBS check on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
- The right to work in the UK.
