Job Description:
Are you an experienced Senior Support Worker ready to take the next step in your career, or a Deputy Manager seeking a more structured and rewarding role? We are looking for a dedicated and ambitious Deputy Children’s Residential Home Manager to join a leading specialist provider in Handsworth. This is a vital position where you will balance frontline care with operational leadership to help deliver an "Outstanding" service. Unlike many Deputy roles that keep you "stuck on the floor," this position offers 1–2 dedicated admin days per week, giving you protected time for audits, care planning, and staff mentorship without constant interruption.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Registered Manager to ensure the home exceeds Ofsted regulations and quality standards.
- Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of Support Workers, modeling best practices in therapeutic care.
- Engage in direct shift work with young people while utilizing weekly admin days for essential management tasks.
- Act as a lead for safeguarding, ensuring the well-being and protection of all residents.
Requirements:
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) is essential.
- Proven experience at a Senior or Deputy level within a Children’s Residential setting.
- A Full UK Driving Licence is required to support the needs of the young people.
- Flexibility to work a shift pattern that includes weekends and sleep-ins (additional payments apply).
