Children’s Home Deputy Manager
Location: Desborough
Salary: Up to £37,440 per annum (plus performance-based bonuses)
About the Role
Are you an experienced leader with a passion for helping young people thrive? Our client is looking for a dedicated Deputy Manager to join their team in Desborough. You’ll work alongside the Registered Manager, playing a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of our children's home.
Key Responsibilities

Support the Registered Manager in delivering exceptional, nurturing care.

Lead and motivate staff, including providing supervision, appraisals, and training.

Build strong relationships with young people, offering consistent emotional and practical support.

Liaise with families, professionals, and external agencies.

Contribute to care planning, risk assessment, and safeguarding procedures.

Work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and occasional sleep-ins.
What We're Looking For
Qualifications and Experience:

A minimum of three years of recent experience in children's residential care.

At least two years in a senior or supervisory role.

NVQ Level 3/4 in Health & Social Care for Children and Young People, or an equivalent qualification.

A strong understanding of emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD), safeguarding, and child protection practices.
Essential Requirements:
To ensure you can meet the physical and practical demands of the role, you must be able to:

Perform physical interventions and restraints (following training).

Walk long distances, carry heavy equipment, and get down to floor level during activities.

Work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.

Hold a full UK driving licence.
