Children’s Home Deputy Manager

Salary: Up to £37,440 per annum (plus performance-based bonuses)


 

About the Role

 

Are you an experienced leader with a passion for helping young people thrive? Our client is looking for a dedicated Deputy Manager to join their team in Desborough. You’ll work alongside the Registered Manager, playing a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of our children's home.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Support the Registered Manager in delivering exceptional, nurturing care.

  • Lead and motivate staff, including providing supervision, appraisals, and training.

  • Build strong relationships with young people, offering consistent emotional and practical support.

  • Liaise with families, professionals, and external agencies.

  • Contribute to care planning, risk assessment, and safeguarding procedures.

  • Work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and occasional sleep-ins.

 

What We're Looking For

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A minimum of three years of recent experience in children's residential care.

  • At least two years in a senior or supervisory role.

  • NVQ Level 3/4 in Health & Social Care for Children and Young People, or an equivalent qualification.

  • A strong understanding of emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD), safeguarding, and child protection practices.

Essential Requirements:

To ensure you can meet the physical and practical demands of the role, you must be able to:

  • Perform physical interventions and restraints (following training).

  • Walk long distances, carry heavy equipment, and get down to floor level during activities.

  • Work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.

  • Hold a full UK driving licence.

  • Confirm your ability to meet all of these requirements in your application.
